Objectives:

1.       1. Specify the purpose and components of state-mandated newborn pulse oximetry screening for critical congenital heart disease (CCHD).

2.       2. Integrate CCHD screening into routine newborn/NICU care and provide appropriate follow-up and referrals based on screening results.

3.       3. Discuss how Texas pediatricians can improve the quality of CCHD screening in Texas newborns.
