In this Education Grand Rounds, Danielle Dickey, Ed.D., Associate Dean for Evaluation & Assessment at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, discusses the importance of and best practices in writing narrative assessments in medical education.

 

Objectives

At the conclusion of this online activity, learners will be able to:

1) Explain what narrative assessments are in medical education.
2) Explain why we need narrative assessments in medical education.
3) Summarize best practices in writing narrative assessments.
4) Compose a narrative assessment.
