Sponsored by the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators, this Education Grand Rounds is presented by Art Markman, PhD, Vice Provost of Continuing and Professional Education and New Education Ventures at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Markman will discuss opportunities to lead in common situations, explain how to develop a capacity to follow the lead of others, exercise the ability to collaborate and lead by example, and identify traits that enable or hinder the effectiveness of leadership roles.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this online activity, learners will be able to:

1) Recognize opportunities to lead in common situations, even without a position that authorizes them to lead.
2) Develop a capacity to follow the lead of others.
3) Exercise the ability to coordinate, collaborate, and lead by example.
4) Identify traits that enable or hinder their effectiveness in leadership roles.
