In this virtual presentation, sponsored by the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators, Deepthi S. Varma, PhD, MSW, MPhil, discusses the definition, key concepts, and purpose of mixed methods research; strategies for merging connecting, and embedding data in mixed methods research; and common challenges in mixed methods research.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this online activity, learners will be able to:
1) Explain the definition, key concepts, and purpose of mixed methods research (MMR) and how to select an appropriate mixed methods design based on the research question and objectives.
2) Describe strategies for merging, connecting, and embedding data in mixed methods research.
3) Identify and address common challenges in mixed methods research, including timing, resources, and integration issues.
