Full course description

In this virtual presentation, Cayla R. Teal, PhD, MA, discusses common problems with manuscripts, developing feedback scripts that can be tailored to the individual, and using feedback scripts to guide the development of communication about manuscript concerns.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this online activity, learners will be able to:

1) Identify common problems with manuscripts, including issues with writing quality, rigor of method reporting, and referencing.

2) Develop feedback scripts that can be tailored to the individual author/manuscript that will identify the “reviewer as mentor” rather than faultfinder.

3) Use feedback scripts to guide the development of customized, transparent communication about manuscript concerns and associated publication decision recommendations (e.g., minor or major revisions).
