Effective teaching requires effective planning and preparation. This module provides an overview of how to effectively plan and prepare to teach in the clinical setting by examining the characteristics of a good clinical teacher, characteristics ofthe adult learner, and the importance of aligning learning objectives, content, and assessment.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this online activity, learners will be able to:

1) Recognize characteristics of adult learners.
2) Identify competencies and objectives and their importance to planning and assessing instruction.
3) Describe the components of a well-written learning objective.
