Healthcare is a highly stressful and taxing profession. Team members are known to carry disproportionate risk for sub-optimal self care, maladaptive behaviors, worse long-term health outcomes, and burnout relative to the general public. This is known to result in broad-ranging implications for their personal as well as their professional lives placing those responsible for the health of our communities at elevated risk for mental health distress, mental health crisis, and even suicide.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

- Describe various forms of social media

- Identify various ways social media can be used professionally (and perhaps unprofessionally)

- Recognize the benefits and pitfalls of social media
